Turin

Turin is the main city of Piedmont, at the foot of the Alps in North West Italy. It has been the capital of the Savoy State, then the first capital of united Italy from 1861 to 1865. Its royal past has endowed the city with an elegant baroque architecture and, in spite of its deceptive industrial reputation (as the siege of FIAT), the city has experienced a huge revitalization after hosting the Winter Olympics in 2006. Its rich cultural offer attracts a growing number of visitors every year, while the surrounding mountains provide a scenic backdrop.
