Warning: this is not the definitive version and will soon be updated as soon as we get new funds (preview: September 2010). Not all recordings are yet available.
This page shows the IPA symbols: in red you can see the symbols of the standard IPA chart, in green you can see some more symbols which demonstrate the use of the most common diacritics. If you click on a symbol, a new page with recordings by 2 speakers and information on the phone will pop up (please, note that in order to listen to the audio samples you need a recent version of Flash Player). By clicking on the IPA and SAMPA buttons, you can alternate between IPA and SAMPA symbols.
Warning: If phonetic symbols are not visible, you are probably using a browser that is not standard-compliant (such as Internet Explorer 6) and/or that is incapable of showing IPA transcriptions: in order to solve this problem, you can simply switch to another browser (ex. Firefox, Opera, Chrome or Safari), or you can try installing additional fonts (ex. DejaVu Sans - you should unzip them in C:\windows\fonts). For further information on how to display IPA symbols in HTML pages, see this link.
